Concert Review

Becontree Brass Band enjoyed a fantastic Summer Concert at Southend Bandstand with a selection of music from musicals, shows and popular arrangements. We had a large crowd listening and we hope it was an enjoyable concert for all.

Concert Review

The band presented a program of music on Sunday 14th May at Upminster Methodist Church.  Playing to  full to capacity  church, the concert which was part of the church building fund project, included favourites from stage and screen. The audience were very receptive and expressed their enjoyment for the afternoon's music, for many this being the first brass band concert they had attended. A good amount was raised for the church project fund.
The band would like to thank Mark Ager for conducting the band.

Personnel Update

Trevor Foster our long standing Solo Horn player, has stepped down from the band as he moves into retirement. We wish him a relaxing retirement.

Personnel Update

A couple of our long standing players in the band have decided to take a break from the band and we would like to thank Evan Champion, Michelle Ford and Kevin Jenner for their commitment and contribution to the band over the years.

We have recently welcomed some new faces into the band, Elin Von S on 2nd Trombone, Tony Howes on 2nd Baritone, Ian Hayes on 2nd Cornet, Lynn Hayes on 3rd Cornet,  and Eamon Wilson on to Eb Bass.

Contest Review

The band again entered the London and Southern Counties Regional 1st Section Contest on Sunday 19th March, playing  "The Land of the Long White Cloud" by Philip Sparke. Having finished 8th and 6th over the past two consecutive years the band was perhaps a little disappointed to finish 13 from 17 this year.
